
Rod Sullivan of Iowa City is a Johnson County Supervisor.
Rod grew up on a farm near Sutliff, and attended K-12 in the Lisbon school system. He went to the University of Iowa, earning a BA in 1988.
He has held several positions in the field of human services, including 6 years with the Department of Human Services and 4 years as Executive Director of the Arc of Johnson County.
Rod is married to Dr. Melissa Fath, a research scientist at the UI and a volunteer pharmacist at the Free Medical Clinic. They have 4 children-Rachel (15) a 9th grader at City High, Jordan (12) a 7th grader at SE Junior High, BJ (10) a 4th grader at Hoover Elementary, and Jasper (3) a foster son.
Rod has been active in many local organizations, including the Hoover PTA, City High Little Hawks Club, Batterer's Education Program, Furniture Project, Yes for Kids Steering Committee, Community Foundation of Johnson County, UI Center for Disabilities and Development Community Advisory Council, Iowa Foster & Adoptive Parent Association, Johnson County Ag Association, FAIR!, ICLU Hawkeye Chapter, AFT Local 716, NAMI, Sierra Club, United Way of Johnson County, and serving 4 years as Chair of the Democratic Party.
In his free time, Rod enjoys playing with his kids, reading, mushroom hunting, euchre, participating in recreational sports, and following Hawkeye sports.
